conclusions
We started by analyzing what we as young people understand under creatures of the night and its connotations.
For us the creatures of the night are something cool and mysterious, you can't quite put the finger on why or how, but the younger generations usually admire them. We are also aware of the negative influences and that those are the things in which the creatures are remembered from society.
This is the one big factors working against the creatures of the night, the negative connotations that a majority of adults have towards them.
They think it's all just about sex and drugs and that those things are forced upon everyone.
To reappropriate our user group and take away the bad connotations, we gave them a new name, "the revellers".
The revellers are people in their 20s that enjoy having a good time, they are in some way alternative and often in some kind of minority groups like the LGBTQ+ community or allies, women or BIPOC people.
Since our user group are the revellers, we had to think "what is it what they want and need?"
By taking one look at the BKOR website you see how extensive all of the artworks are and we did see a direct connection between the removed artworks and the safe places that have been removed for the creatures of the night.
There are two big factors that seemed to be important in the context of nightlife.
First, you have the location of the artworks, so it wouldn't make much sense to make the revellers go outside of the "party area", so the artworks would be more attractive to them when they are closer to bars/clubs/etc.
Second, we have the factor of nighttime, our user group are mostly night owls so the artworks should be accessible also when it's dark outside. Some of the artworks already have lightning around them, but it's rather basic lightning.
I realised that the context of an interface is very important for its use, as the same interface can be good in one context but bad in another.
I also realised that more interactive interfaces interested me the most and which I could also implement the best with the revellers.
This inspired me to think about different ways to make the artworks more attractive in person.

My initial goal was to make a selection of the artworks and create an interactive interface. I want to give back a sense of a safe place to the revellers, so they still have a place to party within corona times.
